And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.
Words written with the finger of God
Published on May 6, 2005 By preacherman In Religion
In the gospel of John 8:1-11 the religious leaders brought a woman who had been taken in adultery. The question the Lord as to what should be done…

“Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?”

Most of us are familiar with this passage from God’s Word, even those who do not adhere to the Lords teaching. In this portion of God’s Word they find some consolation that Christ told the religious leaders….

“he who is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her”

I have found this to be the most quoted portion of God’s Word by unbelievers, but must add that it is used most frequently under false pretences.

We are told in the 6th and 8th verse that Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground. What do you think he wrote, and why?

Boggles the mind after seeing you guys split up who is a Christian and who is not, who is "religious" and who is not, who believes what, who hates God an who doesn't, who has salvation and who doesn't...

after all that you fall back and accuse someone of division. Aeryck has told me to my face that I haven't accepted Jesus. I don't think there's any harsher way to try to separate out people than that.

Nothing more to be said here. ...dust from my feet. Evidently you guys tolerate one another's differences, and all others are to be condemned.

LITTLE_ Whip....big stones, small stone, they are still stones. You know a lot about hypocrisy, and from personal experience. Living as a Chaote Magickian and pretending to know biblical truth is real wierd, dark and light mixed together, you obviously like to live with you feet in the fire. Come on leave Baker to butter his own bread, he is a big boy now and needs to learn to answer the questions for himself.

I couldn't BEGIN to speculate what Jesus wrote, but if I were in the position to say something, I would ask the question "where's the man?" After all, this woman had been caught "in the act" (which leads me to believe on or more (perhaps all) of her accusers had been the other participant(s). After all, adultery is one act that DEFINITELY takes two!

No point, L_W. Aeryck is a hateful person disguising himself with Love. When these two break from their inquisition to accuse someone else of breeding division between Christians, well, it is too laughable to even comment on.

Let Aeryck worship his hippy God of Love and condemn others for the same picking and choosing he does. His condemnation carries no authority.

as an aside, Aeryck:

"Granted that capital punishment is compatible with Christianity, a Christian may lawfully be a hangman;" -as printed in “God in the Dock” by C.S. Lewis.

"...But I doubt whether chivalry has such an unbroken record of failure as pacifism." -as printed in “God in the Dock” by C.S. Lewis.

"Now theology is like the map... Consequently, if you do not listen to theology, that will not mean that you have no ideas about God. It will mean that you have a lot of wrong ones..." --C.S. Lewis, The Joyful Christian

Hi Gideon, I am busy reading a very efficient breakdown of this text. link. From what I understand, this was a classic case of entrapment, for according to what he had been teaching to the drunks and harlots, he would have to free the woman, if he did they would have had a reason to arrest him. Jesus chose well to show the total depravity of mankind. Once the accusers were gone he was able to free her. He certainly did, I am always amazed that he was at ground level, while it does not say she is standing I am sure she would not be reclining.

I would ask the question "where's the man?"

Thanks Gideon, that it what my thought was..... see the religious leaders were so far away from the truth of the law.... that I think that is what Christ wrote. Deut. 22:22. Where is the man?

After all, adultery is one act that DEFINITELY takes two!

What about spiritual adultery? Does it take two??

aeryck

Once the accusers were gone he was able to free her. He certainly did

This he did that day in word, on Calvary He did in deed! Praise God.......

Jesus chose well to show the total depravity of mankind.

He has a way of doing that today.

("I've come to bring a sword...") one that was clearly about earthly divisions, and an argument you neatly avoided?

little_whip this division was an earthly division because of spiritual beliefs.... very similar to what we are seeing manifested on this blog. For instance let's say you and baker were the sibblings of aeryck or even his parents, ya'll are at division with him because of his stand for the truth of God's Word...... hence the sword and the division even of his own house.

For the individual that is born anew of the Spirit of God, it will most certainly change ones course of thinking as once was according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience. In essence the mind of the Spirit in Christ brings enmity with a world of darkness. It has nothing to do with killing or beating some one.

Witch, witch is judging witch? Wait a minute I feel a warm suprise, oh yes, it is little_whip again, showing me how much she loves me. Thanks for getting me off the visitors line, and then crushing my vertebrae, I guess it has something to do with ego-mania, and having the power to curse demons into the abyss. Don't you know that the demons only go into the abyss at the end of the age. Chaote Magick, does that entitle you to be nasty to me, every single time you pass a thread, It is getting a little lame now. Why don't you just do a thread. 'Why I hate Aeryck' and get all your anger out in the open, it is very therapuetic, instead of slumming on someone else thread so you can bark at me. woof woof woof.....ouch ouch as some more stones hit my head, oh look Mom, it is the rolling stones, no way it is gall bladder stones...whatever, you have go to learn to get over it, Chaote Magick, is staight out of the Hollywood dictionary, right alongside the Animaniacs..what out dot.

nasty image, Aeryck (Someone peeing on a Jesus fish, in case he deletes it). I worry about the sanity of someone who believes disagreeing with them is somehow disagreeing with God. You've set yourself up there pretty high. I think you can read that last post (#102, before he deletes it) and see just the sort of fellow we're dealing with...

If I were PM, I wouldn't allow sicko Aeryck's little image on my blog.

WHY I HATE AERYCK Now you girls can stop peeing on me here, come to Daddy.
on May 12, 2005
Hmmm, aeryck says "peeing on me", and posts a picture of someone peeing on a Jesus fish. I think that tells us a lot about Aeryck's opinion of Aeryck...
