And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.

If you could see my back yard it is adorned with beautiful flowers and plants that are in full bloom now. My wife (who has the green thumb) and I enjoy sitting outside late in the afternoon and watching the birds feed in the numerous feeders that are scattered throughout the back yard. As we watched this afternoon, could not help but think as the birds filled their bellies with the seed about God's faithfulness. Matt.10:29-31 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of th...

Without God's Love for U and I, The days of the week would have been Mournday, Tearsday, Wasteday, Thirstday, Fightday, Shatterday, & Sadday. Saw this story on FOX News the other day. They interviewed Teacher Larry Neace and his lawyer. Link It makes you wonder what kids are really learning, even if they do graduate from high school. I wonder how much of this goes on that we do not hear anything about? One would think that schools would be looking for good teachers, who truely care whether a child learns, not getting rid of them when do their job. preacherman

In the book of Daniel we have the historical account of where the nation Israel was taken into captivity by Nebuchadnezzar, the King of Babylon. In the first seven verses of this account we are told that “children in whom was no blemish, but well favored and skillful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge and understanding science” were selected, and that their names were change form Hebrew names to Babylonian names. Hebrew Babylon Daniel Beltershazzar Hananiah ...

We understand that fire purifies, especially precious metals are purified when subjected to time and temperature. The dross (impurities) rises to the top and is able to be removed, thereby making the silver or the gold, more precious and have greater value. Psalm 12:6-7 The words of the Lord are pure words: as sliver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. The psalmist says that the word ...

I received this illusion in an email a while back. Quite intriging I might add. Stare intensely a the 4 dots in the center of the illusion for about 15-20 seconds, then close your eyes real tight and allow the minds eye to do it's work. In the gospel of John 12:20-27 we are told that some Greeks came to the feast to worship. They came to Phillip and desired him saying, sir we would see Jesus. preacherman

In the gospel of John 8:1-11 the religious leaders brought a woman who had been taken in adultery. The question the Lord as to what should be done… “Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?” Most of us are familiar with this passage from God’s Word, even those who do not adhere to the Lords teaching. In this portion of God’s Word they find some consolation that Christ told the religious leaders…. “he who is without sin among you, let hi...

Jonah 1:1-3 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD. In this portion of God’s Word, God commanded Jonah to go and tell Nineveh that their wickedness (sin) is come up before God...

Psalm 12:6-7 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. The Word of God; how sweet it's words and how true. It has existed from generation to generation. Many have attempted to thwart it's truth and it's power. Imagine, what if we did not have the Word of God? preacherman

I receive a monthly newsletter from a Christian Ministry called the Cast Net. Below is a blurb from the letter: A young sailor was proposing to a young lady. “Darling, if you marry me I promise nothing but sunshine. All dark clouds and storms will leave!” The young lady replied, “Just get the ring and the preacher. Forget about the weather report… it is usually wrong.” How true; think how many times we have made promises to someone who is dear to us in hopes to convince them we w...

Nature is full of look-alikes. In the scientific world it is called mimicry. When it comes to snakes, it can mean the difference between life and death. The Coral snake has a twin that only can be detected by the avid herpetologist. For years, biologists believed the resemblance between the coral snake, and its harmless near-twins, the scarlet snake and scarlet king snake, was a classic case of mimicry. The impostors, scientists thought, adopted the coral's colorful bands as a survival mech...

A couple of weeks ago, aeryck shared with jU his conversion to Christ. I really enjoyed reading it. Okay now is the opportunity for you to speak for Him. It's okay, I will not feel intruded upon. I want to hear. Hey, put your faith in Words. It’s scriptural! 1 Peter 3:15 Sanctify the Lord God in your heart and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear. I am asking you to share your testimony and how you ...

In the 6th chapter of Mark’s gospel, Herod had imprisoned John the Baptist because John had told Herod “it is not lawful for thee to have thy brothers wife”. Eventually John’s life was consecrated to God in his beheading. My concern is that there are many that dabble on the religion page of jU who would have thought John got what he deserved, for telling Herod that taking his brother’s wife was a sin. I must admit, this response does not surprise me, especially those who do not see adulter...

In the book of the Revelations chapter 11, The Spirit of God revealed to John the Revelator the coming of two witness that will prophecy during the Great Tribulation Period. The Word of God says these two witnesses will prophesy for 3 ½ years. When they have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them and kill them. The next portion of this prophecy is quite intriguing; it states that “their dead bodies...
