And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.
Live And Let Live

In the 6th chapter of Mark’s gospel, Herod had imprisoned John the Baptist because John had told Herod “it is not lawful for thee to have thy brothers wife”. Eventually John’s life was consecrated to God in his beheading.

My concern is that there are many that dabble on the religion page of jU who would have thought John got what he deserved, for telling Herod that taking his brother’s wife was a sin. I must admit, this response does not surprise me, especially those who do not see adultery as sin. The one that cuts to the Spirit are those who profess a faith in Christ yet I can hear them say to John, “don’t be so condescending and judgmental. If Herod is wrong just live like Christ and love and forgive, just do be intrusive in to the affairs of others.”

Friends, there must be balance, witness with truth.

Thanks for you comments helix II.

As for this omnipotence called God, truely it does not care who we, where we, or how we copulate.

Quite the contrary..."marriage is honourable in all things and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers, God will judge."

Peace my friend

Preach, I do not know if EOC or Little_whip will return. Should they please direct them to this link. It is startling how many people have their own self-styled occult beliefs, but the dark river is deep.

My final words are not my own but a wise words of warning to those who believe they can dabble in the occult and surface unscarred.

From a book that was written for none other than JRR Tolkien called Screwtape Letters by CS Lewis.

'Two equal opposite errors of thought exist concerning devils. One is to disbelieve their existence. The other is to believe and to feel and excessive and unhealthy interest in them. Demons are themselves equally pleased by both errors and regard a skeptic or magician with the same delight.'

There is a site which a friend of mine who was actually a practicing satanist who will willingly help them both should they so desire. 'From Darkness to Light' is his story, his testimony is at this link

If God is in our heart

Herein lies the paramount question, who's heart? Who's heart (mind) does God dwell in helix II? Better yet who's heart are you refering to?

I know I kinda side-tracked there

Not a problem, but I need to make sure I understand who we are talking about.

helix II i have been waiting for your reply.

In who's heart does God dwell?
The heart of mankind can only be influenced by the Word of God when the Spirit of God dwells richly in an individual. Except a man be born again, he does not have the mind of Christ but can only know the things of the spirit of man. If he feels remorse it is no more than his concience at work. It is possible for good people to do good things.

But for the majority that do not have a heart for God and His Word.....many relish in their sin and find no fault with it.

but in the end don't we judge ourselves and feel regret for our whoremongering?

Except a man be born of the Spirit of God, he will not feel regret about his sin.

For the believer the Word of God and the Spirit of God is at work to bring the child of God to the knowledge of his sin (examples King David, King Saul, Saul of Tarsus,etc...) What we do with that revelation is dependent on whether the Spirt finds a repentent heart or not. With David there was a repentent heart, in the case of King Saul, there was no repentence.

One must agree that the way an individual deals with his sin is contengent on whether he/she is a child of God. This does not mean that the Child of God will NEVER sin. We just have an advocate with the Father..... The Lord Jesus Christ. If we confess our sin He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
