And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.
The Fatherless and the Widow

In Isaiah the Lord rebuked a society in which the princes (rulers/government) is rebuked for not protecting the needs of the fatherless (orphans) and the widow (elderly).

Isaiah 1:23
“thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: everyone loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doeth the cause of the widow come to them.”

This portion of God’s Word shows us His concern for those who need others to take care of them. With all that we have seen with the recent influx of sex offenders killing our children (especially in Florida), not to mention the vulnerability of the elderly in our society and our government (law) seemingly inability to protect, what hope we in our future and our society.

What is a society to do?

Pray more, work harder, and put more pressure on society as a whole to do more.

More importantly, each of us who call ourselves Christians need to care enough to do more for those who can't care for themselves. Lip service and insisting others do more (in the way of Government requirements) is obviously not getting the job done.
