And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.
Look beyond your last breath.

Just last week I was reading a comment that was made by one jU citizens about how blessed he was and in that, was fulfillment in his life. I hope no one misunderstands what I am about to say, but the blessings that we enjoy today could be our curse tomorrow.

In the gospel of Luke Chpt. 12 there is a certain rich man that by any standard of today’s living would have to admit, this man was truly blessed. In fact he was so blessed, he didn’t have enough room to put all of his stuff- HIS PROBLEM.

So he decided he would tear down his barns and build bigger. This would eliminate all of his problems- HIS SOLUTION

I think if we were honest with ourselves, that if this was the only problem that we had, “what to do with all of our stuff”, we probably would not look at that as being a major problem. But a careful study of this man we will find that he had a bigger problem. He looked no further than his last breath!

The man's real problem came when God decided that it was time for him to die- for which God said that this man was a fool. Why? Was it because he was rich (blessed)? No, but because he had focused all of his attention on this life and gave no though to the life hereafter…. Eternity. He put so much trust and emphasis on his blessings that his blessing became his curse.

Look beyond today.... to eternity.

Look beyond your last breath and don't let your blessing keep you from seeing your need for God's Christ!
