And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.
Such Bitterness of Spirit
Published on February 11, 2005 By preacherman In Religion
Religious- of or relating to religious beliefs or observances; the service or worship of God; a commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance; a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs and practices. Webster Dictionary....

I have been a member of joeuser for approximately 6 months. I have noticed, and am somewhat disappointed that there is such a bitter spirit that resides in some of the posted opinions. Is it me or does this seem a little strange that there is such venom on a religious blog site? Should there not be a Spirit of Love?

A good example of what I am talking about can be found on a post by Texas Wahine "Stepping Away From God" check out comment #42 by Myrrander. I fully understand that Myrrander has every right to blog on any site opened for "everyones viewing", but does it seem strange that this spirit is prowling a religious blog?

I must admit, I think it is a good idea for someone like this to brouse as they may stumble across the Truth that will set them free. I just think it odd that such a bitter spirit would manifest itself on a religious site. Am I out in left field or do others agree?

I am sure if people posted how crazy or irrational it is to believe buddhism, islam, karma (same as buddhism?), the force, etc. is it would receive as much, if not more criticism. Then if someone complained about it the would be "justified".

And if somebody did that, they'd so deserve it. However, if somebody was simply discussing Buddhism, Islam, or Karma, and people just started posting things like "Karma's a delusion," or "Buddhism is stupid," or "Islam is for misogynists," then those people posting those disrespectful comments would be as big of assholes as the people who post such comments on Christian topics.
I don't believe in a lot of things that people post on here, so I'll either not post on those entries, or discuss them in a respectful way.

Well said justaposition. That is my point. Oft times the disagreement is such a bitter spirit and very disrespectful.

Does anyone think the crux of the matter is not God... but Jesus? People don't mind talking about god and spiritual experiences, but when Jesus is brought in to the picture, it is what can be said that will offend and degrade.
