And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.
Fleeing From The Presence of the Lord

Jonah 1:1-3
Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.
But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.

In this portion of God’s Word, God commanded Jonah to go and tell Nineveh that their wickedness (sin) is come up before God.

Jonah did not obey God, he went down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish, 180° from Nineveh.

If we could have asked Jonah why he was disobedient, I’ll bet you he had a very good reason.

How ‘bout you my friend? What direction are you headed? Are you running in the opposite direction from where God would have you to go? I bet you have a good reason, eh?

You know Preach, for many years I would say, 'That was me, brother'. When I stopped smoking the weed, I was off it for about 2 weeks and then had a major temptation to smoke it. I did and darkness came down on my so terrible. I repented and for some time I was free. Then 8 years later, back at the same place I had fallen before, I stumbled for 5 years....I am not adding up the tally of years so it might be wrong. Then I stopped smoking due to God's directly delivering me from it's grip. It was strange, I always felt it was a special herb given to us Christians to keep us mellow in the hard world. True it does mellow on out, but it also makes one vulnerable to the temptations of satan. That puzzled me for no where in the bible could I find the herb being a cause for worry, then I listened to AE Wilder-Smith on the subject. Him being a serious Christian lecturer and pharmacologist, I listened carefully as he broke it down. The use of hallocegenics is called tripping which is what witches use when the do their magic spells etc....These two links will hopefully be helpful to someone who has had more than their dopefull. I am glad I finally understood that this habit is one that is linked to the manifestations of the flesh as innumerated in the book of Galatians....Link1.....Link2
My life was so off track for so many years, but thank-you Lord for helping me free. Your peace rules...Peace.

Thanks for sharing aeryck.... for me the desire for the weed was removed from my desire the very day I trusted my Lord. I wished that it had been that way with all temptations, but through the immediate delivery, the Lord showed me the grace that is available to those who call upon His name. The others (temptations) has been a learning experience, kind of like leaving the enemies in the land.... Judges 2:21-23, it's a proving of sorts, a testing, you know what I mean brother. Oh, how sweet to call on the Lord for this delivernce, He is merciful and gracious... just want us to know the power is of God and not of the arm of the flesh.

Direction- thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Keeps us headed in the right (Light) direction. The Word of God came to Jonah a second time.. the word did not change, the same yesterday, today and forever.

Thanks for commenting aeryck
