And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.
There is a purpose, if only we will listen for it.

We understand that fire purifies, especially precious metals are purified when subjected to time and temperature. The dross (impurities) rises to the top and is able to be removed, thereby making the silver or the gold, more precious and have greater value.

Psalm 12:6-7
The words of the Lord are pure words: as sliver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

The psalmist says that the word of God is such… His word is tried in a furnace of earth. I have found this to be true. We a get a better understanding of how true and alive the word of God is by the application of that word to the experiences of life.

Many attempt to believe God’s word and understand it’s authority, yet it never comes to fruition, because it has never been made real when the trying times arise. We have always heard that there is “strength through adversity”, what I have found to be as equally true, is that “the word of God becomes more audible as He walks with us through those times of adversity”.

I think it was Job who said, “He knoweth when I am tried, I shall come forth as gold”.

If you are walking through adversity today, spend some time in the Word of God and listen…. He will speak, if only we will hear.
