And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.
Their Testimony & Torment
Published on March 11, 2005 By preacherman In Religion
In the Book of the Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ, in that day of tribulation the Spirit of God reveals to John two of God's witnesses. in the 7 verse of the chapter the Word of God tells us that they are killed for their TESTIMONY.

In the 10 verse of the chapter it states that they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another, because they TORMENTED them that dwelt on the earth.

What does everybody think?

What was their testimony?

How did their witness torment them that dwelt upon the earth?

Verse 4 : These are two olive trees, and two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. [King James Version]

Possibly, they could be two Jewish Congregations. Like say 'Jews for Jesus' and 'Lema'am Shmo' Israel College of the Bible. That would explain the 'olive trees' ~ referring to Israel, and the candlesticks are mentioned in the early part of Revelation, as being the seven churches, of which there are two mentioned here. [verse 20] This is just a loose look, I had always believed these to be Moses and Elijah.

I'd love to know what you thunked. [aeryck sez]

You and Aeryck are the two witnesses, right? I knew it.

That must make you the false prophet. Now don't read anything into that. I would say you fell squarely into the trap of your own prejudice.
Delusional behaviour is common in all humans, but Jesus heals and transforms lives as we look into his perfect law. (The Holy Scriptures.) So who do you think they are? ...

It could be analagous to us myrrander.

There were two questions posed... What was their testimony? What was their torment?

We must understand that their witness is in a day when evil is unloosed and rampant. Their witness is that they simply stood for the Word of God, whether in voice or in action. Their torment is that evil hated them to the extent that their removal was cause for celebration.

See the Word of God is like light and salt. Light is torment for creatures that love darkness... they can not stand it. Salt is torment for those who hate its savour.

aeryck and I could be them.... in that many on jU hate the testimony of God's Word. You know we are living in evil times. What do you think myrr?

aeryck I kind'a had a feeling when I posted this article that someone might say this was you and I. I just never imagined it would be Myrrander, I am a little surprised, not disappointed, just surprised.

There is a lot of speculation as to who they are and I always thought in the same line of your thinking, Moses / Elijah. Although the purpose of the post was that it does not really matter who they are, or what their message was... they/it tormented they that dwelled on the earth.

It is true today. We live in a time of political / religious correctness, and for the witness that stands for God's Word will be construed as hateful and cruel.

Personally, I have no problem with that assignment. God told most all of His prophets, when you take my Word, don't be surprised when it will not be received, and be not afraid of them... just preach My Word.

God's Word was reject in Eden, it was rejected by Israel, it will be rejected in that last day. I don't think it surprises you or me that it is rejected today.

God Bless

Didn't Moses die once already? How could he die again? Surely if it's two Biblical individuals, the answer is Elijah and Enoch!

Perhaps it was Enoch. It is not impossible that it was Moses. With God nothing is impossible.

I am outta here..this is not my blogg.

aeryck I am fully aware that there are many blogs that you are not welcomed on. I have done a very careful study and found them to be those who proprgate untruth and can not stand the Light of God's Truth, lest the glorious gospel of Christ would shine into their heart in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Feel free to always post on my articles. Just stay true to God's Word, there seems to be a shortage on JU.

He did messybuu, but the miracles that are ascribed to these two witnesses by the Spirit in chpt 11 surely look to be Moses. The point of the article was not so much WHO the witnesses were but the fact that their testimony was rejected.

I have heard a lot from other citizens (JU) about the error of mine and aeryck's witness. My point in this posting is that if you stand for the Word of God, the antichrist spirit longs to destroy that witness.

Thanks for posting messybuu

Heb 9:27 "Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment..."

Since man is destined to die once, I really doubt that Moses would be the witness, as he would then die twice, and I don't think God contradicts Himself.

Do you actually believe that there's a chance that you two are God's two witnesses based on the experiences here?

No, I was just being sarcastic. Seems like there ae many (jU)who hate us enough to kill us, sometimes.

It could be Enoch, messybuu. There were others who died and were resurrected, who later died for a second time (Lazarus, Jarius's daughter, widow of Zarephath).

The reason a lot of people say Moses is one of the witnesses is that some of the miracles that were acribed to them "and had power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will".

Er, guys you might consider talking to people who know - rather than stabbing into the darkness trying to "think" who they were.

Trying talking to the guy at www.biblebasedministries.co.uk

I think you'll find he'll tell you they were the Waldenses and Alburgenses of the Pidmont area of Italy, and there is tons of historical info in books NOT the Net that will bear that out.

As to what they stood for and what they testified of, you'll find they refused to bow to Rome and they testified that the only way to God is through his son the Lord Jesus Christ.

I could say more, but that would have to be another article to do it justice.

kassejah it seems you have consumed one too many jars of shroon juice and been reading way too many sci-fi magazines.

Search the scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life, yet they speak of one Jesus Christ. He was the Messiah that died for the SIN of humanity. He is not burried in the great pyramid, but is alive.... forevermore!
